The travelling public also lose out when they receive a substandard or non-existent service though, as is happening here.
In fact, I don't think it is the travelling public who lose out by having big operators on contracted work at all. The tax payer, maybe.

Its hard for them to compete in the drivers wages department but i think they need to scale back there operations to get control of things before they get worse , as they are spreading there operations a bit to far.

At what point will Merseytravel decide to rescind these contracts or is there an ulterior motive for allowing Avon to keep them? If this continues for any length of time, Merseytravel will probably say that there is no demand for these services and withdraw them completely.
