At least Roseheath and Barncroft are taken off them - never understood whey that was done on 163/263 and then 3/3A given they are just the roads directly behind the new bus station in Halewood!

Two new consultations up:

Firstly, Stagecoach are asking for passenger feedback on their Wirral network, in particular; how they use their buses on the Wirral and what could be improved. They're also proposing to change the route of service 22. Under the proposed changes, the 22 will no longer serve Arrowe Park Hospital or Moreton and instead operating via Irby and Greasby to West Kirby

The other consultation is for the 61 (Bootle-Aigburth Vale). In order to improve punctuality and reliability, Arriva are proposing to change the route during peak hours (7:30am and 9:30am and 2:30pm and 6pm Monday to Friday). Under the proposed changes, the 61 will omit Prescot Road and Broad Green Road in the Old Swan area, and operate via Queens Drive between East Prescot Road and the Rocket. These journeys would renumbered 61A. the proposed change will take place 1st September

Details of both consultations can be found here:

The issue with this is (as good as it would be to get a bus to west Kirby via irby again), west Kirby will have no access to arrowe park hospital, and a large section of greasby village will have no bus at all. If this goes ahead, will merseytravel respond to stagecoach’s decision and fill the gap? And along Mill Lane in Irby, you’ll have the 22 going to West Kirby in one direction (towards Greasby), but the 82 going to West Kirby in the completely opposite direction (towards Irby)

There may be an easy way out for this 22 as per route but instead of travelling via Pensby travelling via Irby and the 22A operating the more direct route basically through the fields between Greasby and Irby.

Both services could operate every 2 hours , basically an incoming bus 22 will then become a 22A and vice versa

Rainford route 38 is not up for consultation as well to revert it back to the way it was before the Windle Island roadworks. Not entirely sure why it needs consulting on as I thought we all knew the 38 was reverting once the road works were done?

Not surprised with the 61 change, Broad Green Road can be a nightmare at both ends even off peak, especially Edge Lane junction, if anything Broad Green Road/Edge Lane junction could do with traffic lights as well

RE: Merseytravel: Bus service Consultations - Walton 46 - 17/07/2019 19:18

New consultation up:

In response to changes by Stagecoach to it's Wirral network in September, Merseytravel are now consulting on proposed changes to tendered services 80 and 82. Two options up for discussion:

Option A – Service 80 will have a revised timetable but the route and frequency will remain the same. Service 82 will have a revised route and timetable, no longer serving Irby but extending to Arrowe Park Hospital via Arrowe Brook Road.

Option B - Service 80 will be reduced to operate every 2 hours but the route will remain the same. Service 81 will be introduced operating between West Kirby and Arrowe Park Hospital via Frankby Road & Arrowe Brook Road every hour. Service 82 will be revised to operate a circular route around Caldy every 2 hours.
