The route 1 at night takes about 80 minutes to chester , you could halve that to 40 mins if only travelling to Mill Park or the Travelodge on the M53 junction roundabout , thereby getting more journeys in.
The point is, I can't see it making money with more trips. I think keeping the same departure times and just cutting it back so it is 1 bus would help it. Not changing the departure times from Liverpool just helps with people knowing the times already.

Revised 121/214/215 timetable now up (to be implemented 28th April)

Summary of changes:
121: no change to route or timetable
214: service rerouted via Seeds Lane, Orrell Park and Southport Road, replaces 215
215: service curtailed to operate between Lavender Way and Fazakerley Hospital only, rerouted to serve Stonedale Crescent

I would love to know what the responses were to that consultation as it went from a plan to simplify the timetable and re-route to serve a few more places to a plan to keep the existing routes but cut the 215 back, put upto 8 mins extra into the timetable and give a lot more layover. What a daft thing to do. What was wrong with the proposal they put forward?

As yet, Merseytravel haven't uploaded the responses to the consultation. Be interesting to see what was said

I did notice they hadn't updated the consultations page but had uploaded the timetables. That was a bit of a weird thing to do I thought.

It's quite refreshing to see that Stagecoach is willing reconsider its decision to pull the N1. Personally, I could never understand the logic of running it all the way to Chester. A 30-minute frequency to Bromborough until 3am would probably be more desirable for passengers and profitable for the company.

RE: Merseytravel: Bus service Consultations - Walton 46 - 01/04/2019 11:15

Results of the 3/3A and 211 consultations now up:

3/3A - 3A rerouted, now serves Hartsbourne Avenue instead of a section of Childwall Valley Road. Both services rerouted in Halewood; no longer serves Roseheath Drive or Barncroft Road

211 - Option 2 chosen - service will continue to serve both the Dymchurch and Mains Estates, but will be reduced to every 40 min to allow for adequate running time

Nice to see Merseytravel think an additional 2 minutes is in any way acceptable for the change to the 3A which is now going to have to turn right onto Childwall Valley Road twice.
