Bolton Rail Replacements - gka472l - 17/08/2017 09:55
Major engineering work is taking place at Bolton station between 12/8 & 27/8. had a trip up yesterday and a log of what I saw in the hour or two there is below.....well worth heading up for, plenty to see and with Tyrers ex London DLA's working on the Manchester services, worth having a trip as they get to stretch their legs along the motorway/A666....

Some Preston buses doing the work too. Tyrers are causing a few issues at Bolton Bus Station, where they are parking when they aren't being used. 3 or 4 parking along the bottom of Blackhorse street, causing buses pulling into stands to do so quite unsafely.

They seemed to be using Thynne Street and Bridgeman Street yesterday for parking up although I didn't venture as far as the interchange, although did get some pics where Blakchorse Street turns into Great Moor Street......ah forgot the Diamond one, 30917 or 30918 I think it was...

V25HOW was apparently bought by MTravel. That is what the Facebook enthusiasts page was saying anyway. Vinyls need changing.

Has it transferred though? Some enthusiasts pages report buses have been sold a few weeks before they actually transfer.

It was reported on the Howards enthusiast group with MP Travel business partner at the wheel and he commented saying he had bought it.

From my observations it wasn't any operator causing issues, but the 'controllers' who were failing to ensure smooth operation. Notable was the complete indifference to a low loader which parked up in the offside lane of the interchange for 45 mins when I was there, stopping overtaking when anything was loading at the middle stop.
Singling out any particular operator is unfair, when a lot of the blame actually sits elsewhere.
