Go Ahead Expands - citaro5284 - 06/06/2012 16:08 http://www.go-ahead.com/media/news/2012news/2012-06-06.aspx RE: Go Ahead Expands - Nicholas - 06/06/2012 18:00 Bus and Coach Buyer reports that local sources suggest the depot is not included in the deal, with buses probably transferring to Hedingham's facility at Sudbury. This makes sense given Chambers' two main bus services pass through the town. It seems like a very small company to take over (pvr around 10 going off the timetables on their website), unless its the private hire side of the business that has attracted them. I can see the stage carriage element transferring to Hedingham, whilst Chambers is retained for the coaching side. RE: Go Ahead Expands - gilesbus1 - 21/06/2012 18:56 Sorry its been a while but this sale is exactly what I predicted a short while ago and made quite logical sense, considering the Chambers owners age and his reluctance to buy low floor deckers and also the fact that GoAhead was looking for expansion plans and the geographical area was identical to that of Hedingham and also the fact that the Sudbury depot of Hedingham was under utilised as many contracts had been lost sincve it openned in the 1990's. What GoAhead buys next who knows????? RE: Go Ahead Expands - Metroline1511 - 24/06/2012 08:05 Potentially Western Greyhound, Norfolk Green, Stephenson's in Essex, Regal Busways, EnsignBus or even parts of TGM at Stansted or Colchester from Arriva. Apart from route 29, Arriva has an elderly fleet at Southend. Could this be sold to Go-Ahead in the next 5 years or so? Conversely, I think Go-Ahead are about to sell the tenders of London routes 180 and 244 to Stagecoach at PD, enabling BV to close. If applicable, SDO routes could transfer to BX. Route 122 is being reallocated from PD to TL, where ex-PD routes 178 and 380 are based. So there could be space at PD for routes 180 and 244. RE: Go Ahead Expands - Metroline1511 - 15/07/2012 11:32 There is a rumour that Go-Ahead are in the process of acquiring First Chester & Wirral. http://wrexhamtransport.co.uk/for-sale-first-wrexham/ http://nwbf.webs.com/ Given that these are just on people's blogs this could just be a rumour. Mind you, their acquisition of Chambers in suffolk started out as a rumour, as did Wellglade/ Felix, so you never know! RE: Go Ahead Expands - mbonwick - 15/07/2012 13:19 Treat with extreme sceptisim. The nwbf link is a member on here's website, set up when he was told not to go spouting lies and speculation about or to First employees. RE: Go Ahead Expands - Mal - 11/06/2013 21:48 It was announced today that Anglianbus and KonectBus fleets are to be re-numbered into a single series from 100 - 999. There are some numbered 1000+ but these are to be withdrawn in the near future. At the moment, some buses are running around with both old and new fleet numbers, but the new numbering system will take effect from 30. June 2013. Details of the new numbers are on 'Andy's Bus Blog' in the Eastern section of Busstation.net. On a similar theme, does anyone know if Chambers buses will be numbered in with Hedingham District? Mal RE: Go Ahead Expands - Metroline1511 - 22/06/2013 05:19 Go-Ahead are taking up operation of Tfl routes 193, 368, 498 and 8 SDO routes from First at Dagenham today. They will run from the Blue Triangle base. Ironically, Go-Ahead Docklands Minibus lost route 368 to First London in 2011!
