Apologies - I should have made my point much clearer. My theory is that the funding could have been reallocated to Newport Bus after Stagecoach South Wales decided not to go ahead with the MetroCity EVs for Caerphilly. The latter order and the latest Newport Bus order both cover the same number of vehicles but I'm leaning towards this being a mere coincidence!

I'm happy to be corrected but I think funding can be reallocated to another operator if the original awardee decides they no longer wish to use it. I have a feeling the funding allocated to First Greater Manchester for the 582 was made available to Diamond Bus North West after they purchased Bolton but again I'm not entirely sure if this was the case

Very smart. It's nice to see them in a proper livery and not dealer stock silver

Recently acquired Citaros 149 (CX12 FLF) and 150 (CX12 FLE) have entered service today

Cardiff Bus have recently acquired a Scania OmniCity from Reading Buses and a number of Wright Solars from Go South Coast. These have replaced a number of Darts while other recent withdrawals are the Enviro300s which were replaced by a batch of twelve ex-Bus Vannin Citaros (numbered 141-152). All of the latter are now in service

720 - YN56 FBK
768 - WX06 JXS
769 - WX06 JXT
770 - WX06 JYA
771 - WX57 TLY
772 - WX57 TLU
773 - WX57 TLV (understood to be a very recent arrival)

Recent repaints are 118, 770 and 771. 720 was repainted before entering service and 119 is currently away at HD Trim

Are Cardiff a bit like Warrington, in that they buy new and secondhand buses on a regular basis? If so, it makes sense.

It's only been recently that used stock has been acquired. For many years before it was exclusively new stock

Interesting. I remember a trip years back and the place seemed to be full of Pointers, my last trip in 2019 saw a more varied collection of buses.
