Ashalls will continue as a dealer/vehicle conversion specialist but all existing coach and bus work will pass to Goodwins - not sure if any vehicles are included.

What services do Asthall run now? I can only think if the 277 but that's been M Travel for a few years now.

They run half of the st bedes college services, explains why I've been seeing a goodwins vehixel on the sbc1 for the last month! Think they also have one or two kingsway school services.

Unrelated bus News. Go Goodwins have extended there long running association with the Manchester Storm and they will retain the Main shirt sponsorship position

It's mainly school work and private coach Work. They tended to use vehicles in 'acquired' condition until sold. They did operate some general tenders but they along with vehicles ended up with jpt some years ago.

With most services being cancelled and speculation that Rotala is looking to buy Goodwin, I do hope the majority of the fleet retain their Little Gem livery

RE: Go Goodwins - T42 PVM - 18/08/2017 06:35

Why would the majority of the fleet remain in the Little Gem Livery when they are being bought out? totally stupid comment

It has to be one of the worst rebrands ever with drivers still wearing GoGoodwins uniforms and some buses still being used In the previous livery/colours. Legals and TFGM publicity still referring to GoGoodwins not Littlegem.

What's even stranger is The Little Gem Bus Company Limited had it's name changed to Go Goodwins Limited on 29 June 2017, having only changed it to Little Gem the previous October! The sole director is Wesley Goodwin after Sally Goodwin resigned at the time of the Little Gem name change and Geoffrey Goodwin resigned from that business a few years previously but Geoffrey still has other companies under the Go Goodwins name. Wonder if it was some kind of family dispute?

Heard this mentonied before but they did still share the same depot. Also heard rumours that the bus side of things was seperated, the name changed and was then offered to other operators to buy with Rotala looking like the buyer. Strange that only a month or so ago it was announced that the little gem branding was being dropped and everything was reverting back to Go Goodwins only for it to be sold.

Coach firms running tenders seems to have an effect on certain family run firms. Previously Haytons and Ashalls have both suddenly ceased to operate tenders and simply handed them to other operators. Haytons gave there's to bluebird, Ashalls gave theirs to JPT the first time, more recently handing them other to Go Goodwins although it was only schools I believe.

It's not a stupid comment at all, it's his opinion.
