PO56RSY is one of the original Preston deckers that Rotala inherited. From what's been reported elsewhere at least one of the dual door Scania's has gone to Preston and in return Preston has sent at least one decker to Atherton so it does sound like it was issues with the centre door/ramp that stopped them seeing use here. I wonder if all will end up at Preston, it's been a good few years since buses there had centre doors, I think the Lothian Olympians were the last?? RE: Diamond Bus North West (formerly South Lancs Travel) - M60lad - 24/12/2015 06:54 Terence I was surprised when I was sent the photo of the Prestonbus decker on 73 looks like we were both sent the same photo apparantly it had been out allday from what I got told, not sure why it was alocated to 73s although whether it was somebodies preference not to sure RE: Diamond Bus North West (formerly South Lancs Travel) - RedPanda - 24/12/2015 07:43 (24/12/2015 06:54)M60lad Wrote: Terence I was surprised when I was sent the photo of the Prestonbus decker on 73 looks like we were both sent the same photo apparantly it had been out allday from what I got told, not sure why it was alocated to 73s although whether it was somebodies preference not to sure One left wigan on the 132 about 15:00 yesterday though too far away to identify it RE: Diamond Bus North West (formerly South Lancs Travel) - Mayneway - 24/12/2015 08:04 Why are they so keen to get deckers in use at Atherton? Is there really that much demand for them? RE: Diamond Bus North West (formerly South Lancs Travel) - wiganlad - 24/12/2015 09:33 the traffords get really busy most days espesially when schools are off RE: Diamond Bus North West (formerly South Lancs Travel) - WWH44L - 24/12/2015 12:08 I've seen a pic on Flickr of one of the dual doors in Preston's depot having the centre door removed. The 56 reg ones are probably just loans until these are converted. It's already been mentioned about the ramp at the centre door, I'm wondering if it's something to do with the Trafford centre as I seem to remember Oakwood travel having issues there with thier first attempt at the Red rocket when they wanted to use the bendy buses. |
