The management simply denied that this was the case. The subsided routes are the ones which are less likely to lose capacity (except as a result of funding cuts) as the ITT will specify a minimum service frequency, a minimum seating capacity and the maximum fares which can be charged. It's not uncommon for contracts to require a 35+ seater vehicle unless the minimum service frequency is exceeded.
