RE: WBT Network Warrington - T42 PVM - 07/08/2015 10:11 As for point B the only reason them tickets exist is due to Fairbrothers competing on them routes RE: WBT Network Warrington - T42 PVM - 07/08/2015 10:35 They are Weeklys The Breezer is valid on the 16, 20 and 21 Services the Westy Way is valid on the 1 and 2 Services RE: WBT Network Warrington - T42 PVM - 07/08/2015 10:41 The price rise is already in the local paper, i like how they point out that Network Warrington no longer have Facebook or Twitter and that Paying Passengers are only finding out at last moment. http://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/news/13581281.Network_Warrington_increase_bus_fares___again_/ref=fbpg/ RE: WBT Network Warrington - Valandil - 07/08/2015 12:18 (07/08/2015 10:24)Dentonian Wrote: I assume they are weekly tickets, then, but what length of route are they valid for? To give an example, this is the route length of the 16 (one of the Breezer services): http://tinyurl.com/16todallam (Unfortunately I can't answer your questions 1-3). RE: WBT Network Warrington - motormayhem1 - 07/08/2015 15:20 Its still owned by the council RE: WBT Network Warrington - Mayneway - 07/08/2015 16:35 (07/08/2015 10:41)bolton bus basher Wrote: The price rise is already in the local paper, i like how they point out that Network Warrington no longer have Facebook or Twitter and that Paying Passengers are only finding out at last moment. Hardly surprising given the uproar last time they increased fares. Their attitude towards the increase's was shocking. Interestingly last time a number of people on Facebook suggested the council had insisted on the increases as it looked to recoup it's loan that it gave the company previously but who actually knows. Out of interest how do NW's fares rack up against Halton and Rossendale? Rossendale seem to serve a larger area yet generally thier fares seem quite resasonable. It's perfect opportunity for Fairbrothers and GHA to really attack NW and give thier passengers a cheaper alternative. A couple of examples, based on information available online on the operators' websites: Day ticket Halton: £3.80 Rosso: £4.70 Warrington: £5.95 Weekly ticket Halton: £15.00 (may increase to £16.00) Rosso: £20.00 Warrington: £25.50 RE: WBT Network Warrington - Mayneway - 07/08/2015 22:01 (07/08/2015 17:15)Dentonian Wrote: Or even Arriva. These fares are so horrendous that any half decent Operator can undercut them by a significant margin, and still make a reasonable profit. I'm no fan of Deregulation or "bus wars", simoly because there has never been enough passengers to go round. And the competition we've had in GM has mostly been a case of incumbants undercutting "the orange bus" by as little as 5% and only on certain sections of routes. Once passengers realised the newcomers were very unreliable and had generally lower standards, the successor to GMT won out. But this is on a totally different scale. There is a huge difference between having to make small increases to sustain a decent level and quality service and being plain greedy. These rises to me seem to represent the latter. I certainly feel lucky paying £13.50 for my Stagecoach weekly RE: WBT Network Warrington - JeffJones - 07/08/2015 23:41 (07/08/2015 17:12)Valandil Wrote: A couple of examples, based on information available online on the operators' websites: The Rosso prices quoted are the NETWORK-WIDE Rover ticket, as Mayneway suggests covering a much wider geographical area. Rosso also have their GMsaver ticket valid only in Greater Manchester (essentially covering services in Bury and Rochdale) which is probably more comparable with the NW ticket range. These are £4 (1 day), £12 (7 days) and £40 for 28 days - http://www.rossobus.com/season-tickets.shtml RE: WBT Network Warrington - RSTurbo50 - 08/08/2015 15:02 Im going to keep quiet on this one me thinks |
