It sounded dreadful in Liverpool (http://www.flickr.com/photos/michael27701s-photos/8060429209/)! It was on the duty that operates the last 311 journey from Liverpool to Ormskirk, however a driver usually takes over on the journey before that, so that driver probably took a bus out with him to run the rest of that duty (well, hopefully!).

I had Pulsar 2 MX12 KWL (3118) on my 311 journey from Skelmersdale to Aintree this afternoon; worryingly, it stunk of diesel/AdBlue when it went off the line. After a while, the strong smell made me feel light-headed! Pulsar 2 MX59 FGC (3022), which operated my 311 journey this morning (Walton > Skelmersdale), also featured this smell on-board it, but it wasn't as strong as it was on 3118 - I didn't notice it as much as I did on 3118, either.
Regarding Bootle depot, I can confirm that they weren't given the land beside them. There's a meeting about the future of Bootle, and its services, at the end of this month - at the moment, though, the situation is worrying...

The 311 was interesting this morning... Only one Pulsar 2, MX09 LYF (2944), was on the service, along with Cadets DK55 FXC (2518) and CX07 CSO (2638), Marshalls V633 DVU (7633) and V649 DVU (7649) and Plaxton Pointer 2s X228 ANC (2228) and X233 ANC (2233). By this evening, 7633 had been replaced by ALX200 X264 OBN (2264), which was on the 61 this morning, 2233 had been replaced by Pulsar 2 MX59 FFU (3016) and 2518 had been replaced by Pulsar CX58 FZH (2926). I had 7633 to Skelmersdale this morning and it was definitely one of the worst journeys that I've had in my life - uncomfortable and rattly. I had 2944 home - this sounded wheezy and it felt sluggish off the line a lot (kickdown nearly every time), however it wasn't too rattly. Hopefully, today was just a one-off - things have improved recently, so I'm hoping that Bootle aren't going to ruin things now!
Enviro400 MX09 LXS (4434) is on the 52/52A this evening.
