So the 192 on Xmas day is not making a return this year then

Nothing in Wigan on Boxing Day apart from Diamond's 132.

And thats the thing that baffles me as arriva could make quite a busy service if they extended there services cross the boundry into wigan on boxing day on the 320 and 352.

After reading about the services operating in Greater Manchester it does seem like we here in Merseyside are rather spoilt on Boxing Day

I wouldn't say we are spoilt, I'd say we are better served in comparison to neighbouring areas but it could still be better.

I would say that the commercial services we have on Boxing Day now will be the basis for years to come .

As Merseyrail now run a limited service on Boxing day now , services that follow a rail line are now at a slight disadvantage now than in previous years , when the bus companies had all them passengers to themselves.

The next area to probably take a hit in a few years time though will be the Huyton and St Helens corridors as the railway will be slowly moving all there signalling into one signalling centre making staffing easier .

330 has run on Boxing Day for the last few years.

Given the number of people I saw waiting for a 320 between Ashton and Platt Bridge on Boxing Day, not realising it wasn't running, Arriva could make a few quid on running to/from Wigan!

RE: Christmas period Transport 2016 - motormayhem1 - 04/12/2016 16:19

Thats what shocks me , as i think there would be high demand for both the 320 and 352 and would get great custom on both routes.

Notes that the X8 between Chester & Liverpool will be operating on Boxing Day this year;

I don't recall it working last year. Nice early start for some poor driver too at 07:20 from Chester!
