RE: 2012/13 Football Season - DVL418 - 12/05/2013 21:45 I wonder who Rooney will be turning out for next August? RE: 2012/13 Football Season - wirralbus - 13/05/2013 04:45 It seems that Wigan will most probably be playing elsewhere next year . How often has a team qualified for Europe but not been in the top flight league competition of there country. About Rooney he will probably be going elsewhere next season , Ferguson never put him in the squad for yesterday and im sure he will not put him in the team to go to West Bromwich Albion either , that team will be what he terms his strongest team available . RE: 2012/13 Football Season - Penny Return - 13/05/2013 06:19 Looks like Wigan will be the first club to win the FA Cup and be relegated in the same season RE: 2012/13 Football Season - H101GEV - 13/05/2013 11:15 It was quite the weekend of contrasts for Wigan: the jubilation of winning the FA Cup on Saturday followed by the nosedive back into reality when just about every result went against them on Sunday. It means they must now beat Arsenal - an Arsenal with something to play for - or be relegated on Tuesday night. They won't make up the massive swing in goal difference required to oust Sunderland should they draw. Not looking good for them! Birmingham were in the Europa League the season before last but playing in the Championship, Wirralbus. Talking of ovations, Moyes got the reception he deserved yesterday too. A genuinely pleasant football man who might just transform United into a more likeable outfit than they are currently. Looking forward to seeing who Everton appoint because it will be a huge call. RE: 2012/13 Football Season - DVL418 - 13/05/2013 22:15 Would you want your team to be "likeable" or to win trophies? I know what I'd prefer every time. RE: 2012/13 Football Season - wirralbus - 14/05/2013 04:56 Roberto Mancini has been sacked by Manchester City , some club bosses are so impatient these days its unbelievable . So already we have Everton who lost there manager to Manchester United but he was out of contract . Chelsea who only had an interim manager in place. Its a merry-go-round . RE: 2012/13 Football Season - Jack - 14/05/2013 17:16 Next season is going to be so different, and this season hasn't even ended yet! But don't forget when a manager gets the push he usually has a clause that pays him the rest of his wages for the remaining term of his contract, so they usually walk away with a massive wedge. RE: 2012/13 Football Season - H101GEV - 15/05/2013 11:58 So, Wigan are down. In many ways, it was a case of 'when' and not 'if'. Winning the FA Cup was a landmark achievement but surely a lot of their fans would swap that for Premiership safety? They may well struggle in the Championship next season and from what I've seen recently, Reading look the most likely outfit to bounce straight back up. As for Wigan, I won't miss them - they've struggled for a long time now and have been rather over-hyped in the media. RE: 2012/13 Football Season - Jack - 15/05/2013 12:02 They'll also have the distraction of Europe - depending on how long they last. |
