This is easily a majority of the batch ordered, and is a much greater allocation for the rail replacement service than I anticipated.

I got told upto 37 hybrids will arive at birkenhead for the rails as there will be a lot of extras to ensure it runs smoothly and as the capacity to cope with demand.
There will be 3 routes operating :
1 ) Birkenhead north direct to liverpool (using wallasey tunnel).
2 ) Birkenhead central direct to liverpool (using queensway tunnel).
3 )Birkenhead north to birkenhead central via birkenhead park , conway and hamilton square.

I also hear that up to 7 Enviro400's may go to LS for normal service with increases in frequency on the 437 at least....not long till we find out!

Two unusual workings today were 3164 on the 12/13 and 4669 on the 18
Another Pulsar now fitted with WiFi is 3012

Afraid that an Enviro400 on the 18 is not unusual.

I think you'll find on weekday that it is. The 18 is booked for Pulsars until the hybrids enter service

Actually it isn't.
Although the main vehicle allocation is Pulsars, the remaining Enviro 400's spare from the PVR of the 10B/12/13/15 routes are to be used in service on the 14/18 (with the 14 already having half the original 15 allocation)
