I wonder whether they could be replaced by Arriva London VDL-Pulsars to be withdrawn from route 197 at the end of August, or even by former Lothian Buses Volvo B7TL-Geminis?

There will be no shortage of those ex Lothian Geminis. When I dropped by Marine Depot three weeks ago there was a row of about 30 of them withdrawn - 55/56 reg. All looked tidy, and Lothian's maintenance standards are well regarded within the industry.

156 was on the 28 this afternoon.

Be great if it ends up on normal routes so I can finally have a ride on it

Is the birchwood shuttle not open to general public? Always thought it was.

I was told that you have to be an employee at Birchwood Park to ride it

Indeed. You need to be an employee of certain businesses on Birchwood Park and have a pass issued by them to use the service. I understand the drivers do tend to enforce this.

They will be nice vehicles to operate, but normal Warrington practice has been to buy stuff from London, plus Warrington is starting to lean towards ADL for buses, so I would expect them to probably buy ex London ADL Enviro Enviro400's currently at EnsignBus if they need anything. The Lothian vehicles are also probably too big for Warrington as they are to LWB layout.
