Manchester City Council have just sneezed road and lane closures everywhere so that won't be helping things.

Many dual carriageways in the Liverpool area have been reduced to single lanes to enable several pop-up bicycle lanes which, incidentally are barely used. Consequently, there is is now a lot of congestion that is having a serious impact on all traffic especially bus operation in and around the city.
