Why did they pull it without trying it! Has a heavy hand been laid down from a certain larger company? No other (local) buses other than arriva or first operate through the tunnell to Liverpool during the day do they? Thats not a bad monopoly.

The drives are saying coz thete will be to many buses in leasowe and they will be running empty most of the time

The 241 runs via Bootle but is a 210 otherwise. There is one trip outbound from Liverpool each night at about half 9.

I've seen the 241-ASHWORTH HOSPITAL quite a few times.
It goes past Hugh Baird College then up Merton Road. Thought I was seeing things first time I saw it.

Very odd (and pointless) variation of the 210 route.

I think he knows if he trys to take on Arriva, they'll simply set aside a few grand and with the sole purpose of using it to put Impera out of business.. He's used his common sense, it wouldnt be the first time Arriva have put little operators out of business!

Big companies dont mind independants having a go with routes like the 39 which dont directly rival much, but when they directly rival Arrivas busy routes like a cross river.... im sure some of us remember what happened when first tried their 32/33 a few minutes in front of Arrivas 432/3s...

Very clever decision by Impera if he'd like to keep his company.

Andy, they HAVE to run it. They are legally obliged to run it as it has been officially registered with VOSA. My understanding is if that if its registered, it has to be run unless companies can provide a suitable and valid reason for not being able to run it. The only time recently when I can remember a company ceasing to operate routes almost overnight have been Supertravel. Other than that, if Impera have registered it, it has to be run for the amount of time stipulated by the dates given by VOSA.

I seem to recall it went that way to pick up near to the bingo hall (in Bootle) and also Hugh Baird after night school courses finish. When I worked at Merseytravel it used to have reasonable loadings but that was a few years ago now.

That's my point about about D Regulation. Big companies throwing their weight, toys out of pram, and threat's...Choice??? What Choice... The only companies that go through the tunnel during the day are Arriva and First.

I agree, good a business decision by Imprea, but its a shame they couldnt try the route.

Another good example like with first was a few .years before that when GTL/Stagecoach did saturday and sunday 432 lasted just under a year and then they withdrew it because arriva made therw 432/3 i think if Impera did this 30 Arriva have the couple of ideas that where noted last week like extra 403/413 through Leasowe and 409 to Moreton

I feel sorry for the regular 39 passengers that work in New Brighton and live in Hoylake/Moreton as when this 39A starts they will have no direct link home there is no need to make it every 30 .mins of a night its quiet now on its hourly everning times
