This was written in 2013 and Halton became a member of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority at its formation in April 2014, along with Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral.
Most areas surrounding the present Merseytravel council areas have always been envious of what Merseytravel have been able to do with there bus and train services , to be honest we have an excellent bus and train network , so why not pass some of the expertise on to Cheshire West , West Lancashire and Halton . More joined up thinking instead of the joined up thinking stopping at the county boundaries , if that had happened earlier im sure Arriva would have kept Skelmersdale Depot.
Opps only just noticed the Date As was in my Phone at the time and someone on Facebook Yesterday was claiming that Halton will be leaving Cheshire and moving into Merseyside
