You able to expand on why it has snowballed, i.e is it just to do with SLT or the other companies as well?
Has the 633 gone to Wigan Buses Ltd now? There seems to be a 'longer' fully Dart on the 633 all the time now with a driver without any form of uniform on it!
Yes, apart from the first journey from Wigan in the morning and the last journey from Winstanley in the evening.
Details of proposed changes in January in the TfGMC meeting on 4 January:

*126 - Service between Leigh and Trafford Centre reduced to hourly. Weekday daytime service extended to Horwich, replacing services 516/517.
*300 - The 1505 and 1605 weekday journeys from Bolton and 1535 weekday journey to Bolton will be withdrawn
*516/517 - Most weekday journeys withdrawn and replaced by 126. Saturday service tenders to be evaluated.
*581 - Reduced to half-hourly with Hag Fold and New Hall Farm no longer served.

am not happy with that 300 change, its a well liked service in bolton, people get a system one just so they can use that service....
BBB if you read the document linked you will see that on them journeys on average there is only 4 or so people on them routes and there is adequate cover by another route mate.

But as has been underlined, they are very under-used journeys and so there's simply no point keeping them going. Even TfGM have said that, and have taken no action on this service change.

Don't forget a bus will guzzle about 3 times as much fuel on the motorway than it will on a normal road. If they're not making money to do it, they can't keep doing it.

I've worked you out though, you seem to look at things through a passengers point of view and not look at the bigger picture. You need to take into account the money being made from services and the feasability of running them. If it won't make money, there's no point to it.
well i have only seen one of these runs once and i was on about the service overall, if its only getting 4 people most the time then its not paying but there is a bit of a hole in the timetable but clearly thats not avoidable
reading the document the 126 will be half hourly between horwich and leigh and the 581 might get routed back for 6 month as an emergency tender
The withdrawn journeys are at school times anyway, traditionally when there was a big gap in the timetable on schooldays. All this does is reverse the last significant change (although there will be no school holiday mid-afternoon provision). D&G don't seem to do what other independents do, and that is fill in gaps during the school holidays.
