Does anyone have any information regarding the last running of step entranced buses for any of the NW bus companies? As folk know, step entranced & un-ramped low floor mini & midi buses will be finished off service buses from Jan 2015. I believe that full length single deckers need to be replace by Jan 2016 and double deckers by Jan 2017. Does anyone have any knowledge of planned last running of certain buses that isn't common knowledge? I thought it might be a good idea to post them in one place or at least provide a link to them from here into the relevant company thread. I only know of one such thing (albeit for a Routemaster in the Midlands) and it can be found in the 'Midland Classic' thread...

Does anyone else have any such information...?
GHA Coaches still use some on there NW Englad/Cheshire services such as 82 Chester to Northwich
Stagecoach Manchester still have two B10Ms for school services that occasionally appear on public routes, including the 192
You are slightly mistaken with the dates.
Vehicles under 7.5t MGW (basically means 709D sized vehicles) - 1st Jan 2015
Single Decks over 7.5t (MPDs, Solos and up to Enviro300s etc) - 1st Jan 2016
Double Decks - 1st Jan 2017
Coaches (only on registered services) - 1st Jan 2020
So in reality, 90% of step entrances have at least a year left. Contract routes are also excluded, so the B10Ms mentioned may well last on.

That explains why First Potteries don't seem to be rushing to get rid of their former First Manchester Darts (which are ramp-free...)
Thanks for the correction with the dates... Following on from that, does anyone know of any planned 'minibus farewells' over the next 10 days or so...?
Steps, they are better best forgotten.....
I'll get my coat :-)

Low-floor buses are mainstream in the Here and Now!
