I do wonder whether they can grow the 10/10A route to cover the 34 extra passenger seats there is on these Enviro400's for every journey.

And its going to be an extra 34 seats every 5-10 mins due to the frequency of the routes.

And if there is excess capacity or isn't the expected growth no doubt there will be an understandable reduction in frequency by the spring. As we all know, no bus operator wants to carry fresh air.

The big but is this route is a QBP and one of the winners in this will be Stagecoach if arriva find there pushing around empty seats.
To be honest its a case of watch this space , I think spring is too soon to start reducing anything.

Don't forget that these deckers are addressing severe capacity problems on the 10/10A and 52/52A routes. I can't see there being any frequency reductions - maybe the 10B to every 12 minutes at a stretch - but not the others.
I seem to remember a few people suggesting the 79 would have its frequency reduced when that got deckers in 2011 (another route with major crowding issues at the time) and that never happened.
Not every bus is full on any of the routes currently served by deckers on Merseyside, but there is no doubt the vast majority need them. You get loads on the 432/433 at off-peak times that wouldn't trouble a Solo, but the peak time loads require the additional capacity over a Pulsar.

I don't think passengers are going to worry aboout the shape of the bus!

He was only asking as there is a revised style version coming on stream , which seems to be the preferred version for a lot of there customers.

It's been reported on another thread that the new Enviro400s for the 10B are to go into service tomorrow and that SH's are expected to go into service on the 1st Feb when all SH drivers are type trained. Does anyone know when BT's for the 52/52A are expected? As BT already has Enviro400s would it not make sense for them to receive the next new batch before SH?
