Good evening everyone.
We have some very exciting news and more details will follow but basically, DAPS have reached agreement with Liverpool City Council, Maritime Museum and Canal & Rivers Trust and are delighted to announce we will be bringing the Daniel Adamson into Albert/ Canning Dock towards the end of May and she will remain there until at least the end of September.
We will be putting a large appeal out for volunteers to help man the ship up while in the dock, this is a great oppertunity to get the ship on public display in a prominent place.
The ship is still very much a "work in progress" but will we hope, be the last opportunity people get to see her in her incomplete state before we hopefully get our HLF grant next year and she goes into a ship yard for the major restoration work to be done that will return her to operational condition.
More details to follow.
Just to update, the move of the Daniel Adamson has been agreed and the Svitzer tug "Ashgarth" looks to be the vessel earmarked for the job due to her draft.
We hope that weather permitting, the move can take place next Tuesday morning(27th May).
The move has been and gone. All went well from where i was stood. Big hats off to the guys who were onboard
