It just seems that its in the middle of nowhere and with how many people that use it, is it worth keeping open? Theres no staff to pay there but maintenance, health and safety costs money
Numbers from Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_Lo...ay_station
Its a station so to close it , you would have to go through formal closure proceedings , I bet once the closure would be announced the station would get inundated with passengers its usually the way with closure threatened stations on the national rail network these days .
I see the old chestnut when it rains too much , The Conway Valley Line is suspended at present until first service on 4th January 2016.

Arriva Trains Wales have yet to decide whether they will be able to implement a Rail Replacement bus service between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction.

In recent weeks its been the area beyond Llanrwst North towards Betws Y Coed that's been the problem , this could though be a more extensive closure though as they had been doing day to day closure and inspections.
the damage to the Conway valley line is more extensive than first thought and a new proposed estimated opening date is now 18th January 2016 , this will mean the line will have been closed approximately 3 weeks if it opens on that date . A rail replacement bus service will be operating during the closure period . Please note that during the impending strike action by the ASLEF trade union this replacement bus service will not operate on the 4th January 2016.
175110 has been noted in service operating as a two car unit. Does anybody know what is the problem with the centre car?
How bizzare
Must be a fault that has happened with the last fortnight on the middle coach of 175110 as there is a pic of 175110 on the Mid Cheshire Line dated 28/02/2016 with its middle coach on http://www.nwrail.org.uk/nwnews.htm .

This website is a very good source of information for most railway related items in the North Wales area.
Another old chestnut is the rather hit and miss Bidston to Wrexham service .

Whenever there is service disruption on this line it seems priority is always given to keeping the Shotton to Wrexham service running at the expense of the Bidston to Shotton section of the route .

The section between Bidston and Shotton is not really set up for rail replacements with roads and stations not really following each other.
Not previously mentioned is that the Conwy Valley line re-opened with a limited service on February 22.
