Dont forget in September the WAG express will operating via Wrexham not Crewe .
The service will also depart later from Cardiff Central as well.
Anyone happen to know the history of "Platform 0" at Chester?
I had to go for a training course there today and during lunch had a bit of a walk around. Fully signalled, track quality is fine and is obviously used by ECS/Engineers etc on an adhoc basis, and the platform is in good condition and certainly usable. The only down side is that ticket barriers do not cover the platform.
Was this originally a Platform 1 and why did it fall out of use? Perhaps redstar?
It would be ideal for the London services as a dedicated platform, no ticket barriers, no stairs/lifts, near station entrance, car park, travel centre and toilets (and Costa/WHSmiths etc)...
A Voyager could easily fit. Anyone ever remeber a passenger train here?
Services between Wrexham and Shrewsbury are subject to delay this evening due to suspected cable theft .
Some services may divert via Crewe , wonder whether the WAG loco hauled stock will operate via Crewe in the morning instead of via Wrexham .
Everything running normally this morning, bar a few minor delays between Hereford and Newport.
Wrexham-Bidston has been suffering delayed since 3pm today.
Started off with delays around 10 minutes, delays have now crept up to around 25 minutes.
No full/part cancellations though, so with the fairly tight turnarounds, the delays will be all evening.
Exceptional Rail Head Conditions, particularly around Cefn-y-Bedd and Buckley.

It wont ever be used for anything other than stabling due to being outside the gateline on the station , these days stations with gate lines get less onboard ticket checks i have noticed .
Due to flooding services between Llandudno and Holyhead have been suspended , they are trying to obtain road transport but there is plenty of roads in North wales presently impassable due to flooding.
Further to the above about services between Llandudno Junction and Holyhead .
There is no service at all bus or train between Llandudno Junction and Bangor . A limited bus service is operating from Bangor to Holyhead.
It seems that part of the North Wales Coast Mainline has been hit particulary badly by the bad weather.
Due to flooding at an undisclosed location between Chester and Crewe a rail replacement bus service is in operation between those locations .
This problem will also affect Virgin Trains services as well to Chester and Holyhead.
No service bidston - Wrexham due to flooding.
Just been on bbc news there's massive disruption in south Wales due to flooding and signalling probs at Cardiff
