One of the MTT Atlanteans (1449 I think) was nicked from LS and deroofed somewhere in that area but not sure exactly where.
Indeed, 1449 was stolen in 1983 and De-roofed under green lane bridge.
That bridge at green lane has deroofed a few double deckers in its time , its deceptive that bridge because at one end you would think you could get under it but at the other end the road and bridge get closer together .

What is the leeway between the marked height of a bridge and the actual height ?

There are three low bridges between Birkenhead Central and Rock Ferry stations. These are Green Lane, Chamberlain Street and St Paul's Road. Previous victims have been Birkenhead corporation buses 12, FBG 912, a 1958 Massey bodied Leyland PD2 partly de-roofed in December 1970 and 319, BG 8552, a 1943 Weymann bodied Guy Arab in 1951 which was subsequently convertes to a breakdown recovery and tree lopping vehicle and ran until in this role until 1968.

1551 was an arson attack victim top deck destroyed by fire.
4204 (VLW5) on 2, 1715ish from Liverpool. A nice change.
Think an occasional double decker on the service 2 may happen a bit more on the approach to Christmas , especially on the Saturdays .

How does 4204 do in the operating stakes as a couple of people have said the early 42xx batch are poor runners .
