Unfortunately, the new 403/413/414 timetable from mid-July looks a bit of a mess, with far from an even headway MS daytime.
Sometimes the gap in service on the common section of the routes is 5 minutes, sometimes 10, sometimes 15.

It is good insofar as there is 15 minutes' headway between the 413 and 414 -- but then with the 403 'slotted in' at times only 5 minutes before the following service, assumedly either for operational reasons or to increase the number of passengers on the 403, given that some here have said that it is a service which does not perform well (I can't vouch for this as I am not a native!)
Im now not so sure the 403 will survive the next round of timetable changes after this one .

Think Arriva cottoned on that the Impera service was a good little earner and improved the 414
The 403/413/414 corridor is the only Wirral route I use regularly, and it would certainly be fair to say the 403 performs worse than the 413/414 for missing Liscard. It's a useful service though through Poulton to access the doctor's surgery on Gorsey Lane and IIRC, a fair few kids from Weatherhead school use it.

I much prefer the new timetable for finally having a consistent service of every 15 minutes to and from Liscard. The previous set up, with long service gaps in the Liscard to Birkenhead direction, was a real frustration. I'd say this is the best timetable arrangement so far, at least at the Wallasey end of the route.
Couldnt they recast the 409 to operate over part of the route of the present route from St Hilarys Brow to Seacombe and then continue in a loop using the present 409 route and have say a 408 doing the route in the opposite direction . Maybe its time to think a bit out of the box that way you dont lose the link in full.

That's a thing, the 409 seems remarkably lightly used as a route so if the 403 is in some danger of the being axed, surely the current 409 set up is as well?

They could do it how Impera had their 15 & 16, They could extend the 409 from Wallasey Village to go along Beeck Road and poulton road to Seacombe then continue on to Birkenhead and introduce a 408 like you said going the opposite direction to the 409
Volvo B7TL 4204 on the 432/437 this evening.
