Much chaos this afternon on Liverpool-Birmingham services caused by trees down and flooding. At one point three southbound trains standing in the Heamies area. Can't be certain what was down to this and what to crew shortages, which seem to have seen a resurgence this week, but the 15.04, 15.34, 17.04, 18.04, 18.34, 19.12 ex Lime St were all cape, as presumably will be the 22.34 - anyone see or hear of buses vice?
Vivarail 230001 has been moved by road to Tyseley LMD for crew training/ mileage accumulation.

Great news. I'm looking forward to seeing it enter service
According to the news, there were 10 people aboard, all got off safely
The fire could not have been too serious as 230001 was cleared to return to Tyseley under its own power.

A feature of the D-Train is the diesel engines can easily be removed and inserted (like batteries in to an electronic device) meaning the fire damaged engine was replaced before the train returned. However,
if the RAIB decide having that feature directly caused the fire then it could be all over for the D-Train.
It also probably means that london Midland would have to go back to the drawing board to find ways of increasing capacity on the Coventry - Nuneaton service.
Oh just look at all those delay minutes that added up for all the other companies that use the line between Leamington Spa and Coventry.
230001 didn't go to Tyseley, reported by WM bus forum owner still at Coventry Yard.
Due to overrunning engineering works between Wavertree and Weaver Junction this morning the 0630 0704 0734 0804 and 0834 were all cancelled between Liverpool and Crewe.
