Hi

I was traveling on the Metroshuttle in Manchester over the weekend and was wondering what other bus services operate free for passengers in our region and nationwide

I know that First used to operate the Chester Rail Link, until Helms of Eastham/Aintree Coachline decided to commercialise the service

Thanks
Metroshuttle 1, 2, 3 in Manchester plus 300 in Stockport, 400 in Oldham and 500 in Bolton are all free services in Greater Manchester.

Over in neighbouring Yorkshire, there are FreeTownBus services in Dewsbury and Huddersfield, while there are FreeCityBus services in Bradford and Wakefield. Leeds did have one until a couple of years ago but was replaced by LeedsCityBus, where passengers can either pay 50p single fare or travel for free with operator or Metro day/weekly/monthly/annual tickets. Sheffield have the FreeBee service in the city centre.
Here in Fife, Stagecoach Fife provide, under contract to tesco, buses, once a week, to Tesco at Duloch park, Dunfermline. I think they run from Blairhall and steelend on a Tuesday, Ballingry and High Valleyfield on a Thursday.
In st helens, selwyns operate the little battery powered technobus town services.

Those services stopped earlier this year, but they do provide a free shuttle bus in Dunfermline town centre (seven days per week) in connection with the building of a much delayed new tesco store.

The Chester Rail Link under First was officially only free to rail ticket holders. Others were supposed to pay, although it was very rarely enforced.
Hi All,

HTL Buses run a free service for Asda to/from Asda Hunts Cross via Halewood & Speke, running Monday to Friday daytimes.
There's a free service linking Southport Tesco Extra with outlying communities operated on contract by Cumfybus usually using one of the Dennis Trident double deckers on Tuesdays and Fridays.
