Yes, the PVR is 8 and the order includes a spare bus. Arriva often include a spare or two in their purchases.

Does anyone know if Arriva will go for Euro 5 or Euro 6 Enviro 400's for Southport?

Most things will be Euro 5 I would have imagined.
The amount of Euro5 products that can be delivered in 2014 is very restricted.
Euro6 exemptions apply for UK models and for a maximum of 250 of each model (which must have been produced at Euro5) - I am imagining the Streetlite must be nearing hitting that limit gvien the First order.
Foreign based models such as Volvo, even where bodied by Wrights do not meet the criteria for Euro6 exemption.
As for the SB200 ... yes it is being produced as a Euro6 model, but not offered with a RHD option, and loads of LHD SB200s wont be of much used travelling around the centre of Merseyside

Thanks Steve, I'm glad things have been cleared up regarding VDL, as the situation wasn't the clearest.
With the number of StreetLites ordered by First (301 if I remember rightly) they'll have used up the entire Euro 5 StreetLite builds for this year. In fact, I think I remember reading somewhere that First have conceded that some of the StreetLites they have ordered may be delivered as Euro 6 models.
It looks like the StreetLite Max may well be Arriva's new standard single decker then.
