The new Versas for the Flying Tiger service have been built and are ready for service. Here's 792 (YJ14 BWW) at Sherburn © MJ's Bus and Truck pics

The Flying Tiger is a more elegant name for a bus route than The Flying Pig! Laugh

Joking aside though, and I do thank you for submitting a link to this picture here. Now we know where the Versas will be allocated. I hope they are in service in time for my next visit to Leeds in August.
Yorkshire Tiger have made some contract gains in Halifax following the review of services in the Calderdale region by Metro, while the cross-county service between Halifax and Rochdale will continue, albeit as a Monday-Saturday daytime service with a limited Sunday service, which will be re-numbered as X58.

From the end of January 2015, Yorkshire Tiger will take over the following services:
*504 (Halifax-Denholme)
*507 (Halifax-Claremont - renumbered 34)
*513 (Halifax-Mixenden)
*526 (Halifax-Shelf - currently operating as 539)
*546 (Halifax-Warley Sunday service)
*547 (Brighouse-Huddersfield)
*560 (Halifax-Commons - evening service)
*561/562 (Halifax-Ripponden circulars via Sowerby Bridge or Barkisland - replaces services 531 and 557/559).
*571 (Halifax-Bradford - evenings and Sunday mornings)

there are also Optare Solo SR micro-hybrids on order as well,to be fitted with WIFI (something first decided not to fit to the new Eclipse 2s)
Are the ex North West Marshall Darts still in use?

Can only assume there will be some limited stop status brought in, presumably on the West Yorkshire side. Should get confirmation in early January 2015.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire Tiger's sister company K-Line is undergoing a re-brand with buses given a new all blue livery and branded as Tiger Blue brought to you by KLine.

These could be the first Optare Solo micro-hybrids anywhere in the country. I had considered coming to Halifax to ride Barkisland routes (including the E8) in November but I shall now postpone until these Solo SRs are in service.

These are elegant, but the blue reminds me of BlueStar in the Southampton area. It may have been intended to match Flying Tiger buses. I prefer it to Yorkshire Tiger orange but would have preferred K-Line to have been absorbed into Yorkshire Tiger (or even Arriva Yorkshire).
The depot in Elland suffered a large fire last night:

...and the Kirkstall depot in Leeds was flooded at the weekend, so they haven't had a great Christmas!!
Looks like a rally round the arriva empire for spare buses or will need to lease a few buses from hire firms.
A former forum members family member works for the said Depot, Solos are Presidents are the apparent victims and damage to the Depot building as well, Main point is no one was hurt but i look forward to finding out the cause of the fire in case it was arson as the article does not rule anything out
