On 19th June Freightliner took over ERS Railways based in Rotterdam. They operate intermodal services to ports such as Rotterdam and Hamburg. In Holland thet operate a number of Vossloh G1206, G2000 and six "Class 66".
It will be interesting to see if these new acquisitions will be repainted into Powerhaul livery.
70005 caught fire this morning at Hindley, causing delays of up to 40 minutes.
Frightliner have taken new Colas locomotives 70805/08 on hire to operate Intermodal services. This is ironic as they were originally ordered but later cancelled by Freightliner and could have been operating as their 70024/27!
Colas 66848 is currently on hire to Freightliner.
Freightliner is to hire up to seven Class 56 for service. The first is 56081 which has arrived at Basford Hall to act as yard shunter.
Former DRS locomotive 66418 has been repainted in Powerhaul livery.
66530 is being prepared for transfer to Poland.
As a result of the WCML being closed north of Gretna Junction six Freightliner electric locomotives have been stranded at Mossend. 86609/13/39 were brought south yesterday by 66536 to Carlisle via the GSW route.
Still at Mossend are 86605/12/38.
66527 is another Class 66 being prepared for transfer to Poland.
66535 is a further member of the class going to Poland.
