Potter Group have agreed a 30 year contract with The Merseyside Waste Authority for their rail terminal at Kirkby to be used to transport waste to Wilton, Teeside. There are to be two trains a day and the start date is 2016.
When was the rail terminal last used ?

It was shipped in actually. Rolls of newsprint in vans for the Daily Post & Echo. They lost the trade to Liverpool Freeport. The tade was lost totally when the print room closed down and the work transferred to Chadderton. 56s used to take the vans to Knowsley.
DBS have commenced route learning in preparation for the start of the SITA non recyclable waste trains between Knowsley and Wilton in Teeside. Route learning is between Wigan Wallgate and Wakefield Kirkgate and the locomotive being used is 67008.
