Sorry I just calculated Liverpool-Manchester.
The 48A Southport - Liverpool 23miles ish
I seem to remember about 10 years ago, there was a daily service from Liverpool to Baslow (Derbys) run by Hulleys, which must have taken a good 2 or 3 hours to do
Apparently, there used to be a daily 702 service Cardiff-Cwmbran-Builth Wells-Rhayader-Newtown-Wrexham-Chester-Liverpool.

Some distance that, about 300 miles!

Anyone got any memories/pictures?

North Western back in the 90's ran the X8 as follows:

Banks - Southport - Liverpool - Chester - Llandudno.
The Pr1 in southport is prob shortest Wave
Not as long as the Cardiff example, but at one time the East Midlands X67 "Lincman" service ran Liverpool - Manchester - Stockport - Marple - New Mills - Chesterfield - Lincoln
