Was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who works at Runcorn Depot and he informed me that it is true Runcorn have registered a X4 route and its going to run from Runcorn-Liverpool via Widnes and it's supposed to start next month (December).
I’ve just seen a brand new MMC in Metro livery at Halton Lea type training I don’t know if it was a Runcorn vehicle.
liverpool echo has announced the new service of the X4 Runcorn - Liverpool via Widnes Green Oaks & with a £2 fare & starts on 16/Dec

From a post elsewhere, it seems to be Birkenhead's 2757

That's great that you can see the training videos on YouTube.
If they want to just use a PVR of 2, they'll have to hope they can complete the route faster than in the video, when you consider actually stopping at bus stops along the way and giving tickets etc.
The traffic didn't seem thick, and that driver seemed to be lucky with the lights too.

I hope that turns out to be the case instead of the "around 50 minutes" that has been quoted as the time each way.
New X4 timetable available on the Arriva website here:

Great and slightly surprising that the last departure for Runcorn from L1 is at 00:15.

Interesting the X4 has an evening service, but no Sunday service, 00.15 is the last one from Liverpool, the evening service on the old X1 was withdrawn in 2007.

I still say the X4 daytime service needs to be at least every 30 minutes.
