As already reported by Scott in the posts above this one.

DAF SB220/Alexander ALX300 4096 (S477 ANW) is now in service at Redcar (Photo @ Alex K), while for reasons unknown, 4097 (R458 KWT) is in service at Ashington (photo @ mattdw92) and 4098 (R459 KWT) is also in Ashington depot (photo @ North East & Regional Bus Photos).
4097 was in use on the X21 yesterday issuing tkts saying it was 1723 !! also 4098 was on the 35, I though I saw 4096 heading out of the Haymarket at around 5pm on the X20
but in view of the above post I must have misread it

That's due to the the baseplate of the ticket machine coming from 1723, as the driver can't change the fleet no. on the ticket machine.

They should have features including leather seating, power sockets, Wi-Fi and a next-stop information system. More information at http://thebuspeople.co.uk/?p=1957

These will be an improvement from the elderly Prestiges and ex-London Darts that operated the route at least when I was last in the area in July. I might postpone Middlesbrough until next year to ride one of these leather-seated Pulsars then.
They will be a welcoming edition to Darlingtons fleet, as well as the EcoCitys which are to enter service at the end of March. I just wish more investment was made in Durham, the fleet is really beginning to deteriorate.

If Durham's fleet is deteriorating, what in your opinion is Stockton and Redcar's fleets like? And neither of those depots are getting new stock this year, instead it's cascades from depots recieving new buses.
Durham will also be receiving cascades which should see off some of the older fleet members.
Errm, Kuyoyo? We have 11 step-entrance deckers in daily service alongside Pulsars on busy services. Paying a fortune of a fare for a 19 year old E Type isnt exactly acceptable! Stockton and Redcars fleet is fine in my opinion, you're all low floor!

Thanks for that Scott, I would imagone seeing DLA's coming from Northumbria when the new hybrids enter service.
