What is this route learning for? The 507/8 scrap moves or a new freight flow?
It could also be for engineering trains as well because it is the easiest route for engineering trains to take for access to Birkenhead North to New Brighton & West Kirby lines.

I live in Woodchurch about 10 - 15 minutes walk from Upton station on the Bidston - Wrexham route and from my property I can easily hear engineering trains leaving the area when route possessions have ended and the track is handed back to merseyrail, when the loco/s are in full thrash hauling the engineering trains away from the area on a clear night it's quite something to hear.

I believe their is upcoming engineering work between Bidston and Wrexham.
You’re right, they’re route learning for working engineering trains during the 9 day closure of the Bidston to Wrexham line in February
