Manchester has moved a step closer from introducing Oyster-style smartcards, which will be used on buses, trains and Metrolink in Greater Manchester. A £32.5m grant has now been secured to add to investment from 'local funds', meaning that £52m will be spent on the scheme, plus real-time information for websites and smartphones.
