One of PMT's G-XRE Leyland Olympians has been preserved. I can remember several of these running from both Chester and Moreton about 10 years ago although whether this particular one did I don't know. They were proper motors and most capable of a spirited run, as I recall.
Id seen a shot ages ago on my flicker feed that showed a Holmeswood vintage vehicle dumped in a shed with stuff piled around it. Would be nice to see that see the light of day again and running again whatever it was

Highlight of the bus side of the weekend for me was Swift 554 (as you can probably guess from my chosen bus type) - it's amazing how St Helens and Blackpool chose the same type of single decker to launch their One Man Operations in the late 60's/early 70's.
Not up in the North West, but down here in the Midlands, ex-Greater Manchester Transport Daimler Fleetline 2236 (RNA 236J) in Lichfield Bus Station today, while running a service from Aston Manor Transport Museum in Aldridge, and I must say, absolute beast of a bus! Albeit I was shook up after the 60mph zone on the A461, but oh well!
