Thanks for the list. I had thought that there were quite a few more than that actually but there you go. They also had a few of the L-TKA Volvo B6s from new which were branded up for MTL Manchester's 135 to Bury as I remember.
How on earth they thought purchasing battered old Nationals in such quantity was a good idea I will never know. Some of them were B-series examples I think.

Hope this helps
6013 - 6093 were not original MTL Stock and these would have been brought in, the SKF's were but cant remember the last one of these but they went up to at least SKF 28T (6028 the fleet number). The original 6087-6093 would have been VBG 87V - 93V. I have a feeling that 5209 & 5223 might have ended up with CMT, if not they certainly had one or two of those batches, maybe somebody else may to be able to confirm.
While CMT did have buses out of those two batches, neither of those were owned by them although UPB 323S was later sold on to Delta, Mansfield.

Thanks, I knew that they had buses from those batches, just wasnt sure of the numbers, I had seen that SPC 269R somewhere though, FAREWAY had a R-Plated national 1 after the takeover as well, but what it was I couldnt really remember.
Also SKF-Ts went from SKF1-30T. CMT had various types of Nationals, I have a list that is most, if not all of them, but that is for another topic.
What routes did MTL Manchester run? And seperately, what buses did Lancashire Travel operate into the GM area?

At least one route I remember seeing a pic of a National on at the time was route 263. Whether this was the full stretch from Manchester to Altrincham I am not sure. Maybe the bus wars explain why this route is operated by Arriva (ex-North Western) rather than Stagecoach (ex-GMS) now?
I know they operates a 42 between Piccadilly and East Didsbury - but so did everyone else in Manchester!
A few bits on this:-
MTL Manchester bought Nationals as they where cheap and easy to get hold of as many where reaching end of service life. A large different quantity of stocks where tipped into including Fishwicks, Badgerline, East Midlands and various others.
Lancashire Travel generally operated the following into Greater Manchester, Leyland National 2's many based at Bolton Copachways depot at Bolton which MTL bought, they can be identified as all these past to GM Buses North after sale, Volvo B10B's Wright Endurance worked some of the longer routes namely L501-513TKA and also working where Metrobuses both MKI and II examples and Olympians o251-o260 which where based at St Helens initially, also working in later on prior to closure was the odd Leyland Titan TN but they really where meant for routes in copetition with WBT in Warrington but I have photographic eveidence of one working into Manchester Piccadilly Bus Station and I also have recollectiosn of seeing one in Leigh.
