New 168 service to run from 20th July 2025; St Helens - South Parkway [Morning] Speke - Haydock [Afternoon]
This is a new service operated by Hatton’s Travel. Running one morning journey from St Helens (Shaw Street) at 0830 to Liverpool South Parkway via Widnes and one journey starting from Garston, Speke Road at 1726 to Haydock.

I bet this is a glorified dead run for whatever is allocated on the 167 similar to the 12A & 28A.

Why do Hattons do this though. Is it too make a profit off dead running to a route? Like the 167, 12 & 28.
Another question is why is this subsidised when the other routes are commercial? Does not seem like the best use of subsidy.

Apparently they get fuel costs back if they run it as commercial service rather than running dead.
