When current provision ends, Labour have confirmed the fare cap will be increased to £3 rather than withdrawn. Greater Manchester fares will remain at £2.

While some operators were charging over £4 for singles prior to the fare cap, I wonder if it'll mean some of the fares that were two pounds something before the cap, now end up being £3. I seem to recall Warrington's Own Buses had some short distance £1.80 singles before the cap, which became £2 when the cap was introduced.

My local Stagecoach route, had a £1.20 fare, which became £2.
Metro Mayor Steve Rotherham has confirmed that the £2 fare cap will remain in place until Autumn next year.
