Cheers, was looking for the artical for ages before[both Echo & Daily Post sites, but couldn't find it.
i am gonna watch this with interest as the price of fares now is a joke 4 quid to go there and back to liverpool train is less than that and so is a saveaway
how the hell is this going to work? scrap all bus routes and put new ones in?
This is a pre-general election policy of the Labour party. They will have to win the election before any legislation can be introduced. It could take years!

Totally agree, Labour would have to win an election which is about another three years away, and i'm sure if they win they would have other things in mind to change first, ie, economy, NHS etc etc etc.
yes thats all true but that still leaves me thinking how will this work? i was only born in 1995 so way to young to remember d regso can someone please tell me how will this work?
Just look at the London model and each route will come up for tender , Merseytravel will dictate vehicle type be it single or double decker and frequency and they will have to tender on those sort of characteristics .

It will then be Merseytravel that tinker the route network then not the bus companies .

Im sure the big guns will be looking closely at any legislation to look for any restraint of trade .

Be interesting what would happen if one or more of the big four pulled the plug in a metropolitan area .
big 4? there only 2 companys big in merseyside is arriva and slavecoach
Hang on if a company operates a commercial route nothing to do with Merseytravel tbh

And merseytravel should bring some old services back
