Well I beleive the 10A will be the 6 minute shuttle service between L1 and Queen square hence the investment of hydrogen deckers for the 10A partnership.
Just out of interest and working to the remit that the sheer amount of buses crossing the city needs to be reduced what would people on here do as an alternative?
Times like these when maybe that Light Rail System which got shelved around 15 years ago could have been useful in this situation - just a thought!

Contrary to popular misconception, if the Wirral services are not included, there are a lot fewer buses traversing the city centre now than there were before deregulation. Ironically, the Wirral services will not be affected by these changes.

The alternative is to put pressure on the private motorist of which I am one.
I think that if the Wirral services went back into Queen Square where they was taken out of a long time ago then Victoria Street and Sir Thomas Street would not have been such a bus congestion point , one ill parked up bus service at one of the bus stop in Sir Thomas Street can cause untold disruption to all bus services.

Taking down Victoria Street Car Park would be a good start and replace it with a few bus stands for cross rivers (thus reducing the number of buses on the lower part of Sir Thomas Street by around 30 buses per hour (2 stands on the car park land for the ones which start there and then 2 stops on Victoria Street for the services which start on Cook Street). This also then provides a drop off point meaning 9 less buses per hour wanting to use Whitechapel. Then replace Dawson Street taxi rank with bus stops for the Bootle services which terminate at Whitechapel and start at Sir Thomas Street. This then leaves Sir Thomas Street completely free of stopping buses and provides more layover on Crosshall Street and Victoria Street (with VE not being needed as cross rivers can use the proposed Victoria Street Minihub).

Just this somewhat small change would take bus stops off Sir Thomas Street, reduce the amount of buses over the Queen Square/Whitechapel junction, increase layover close to Queen Square and speed up bus journeys for all routes. You could probably relieve most of the congestion just doing that!.

That is before you look at traffic lights and junction priority.

So no chance of it actually being a reliable 6 minute frequency?. With extra buses using London Road, and far too many poorly phased traffic lights, I anticipate we will be seeing bus queues stretching much of the way from TJs (London Road), along Lime Street into Queen Square.
And then we will have lots of extra buses trying to find somewhere to "hide" until it is time for them to return to depart from Queen Square...... - and increased pollution in the Queen Square / Lime Street area just so that streets closer to the river can get lower pollution.

Totally agree with you as its bad enough trying to get into liverpool as it is now so its gonna be even worse when all this transition takes place.
It would of been better banning cars out the main city centre and having operating bus lanes and priority
Lighting but no chance of that while joe anderson is in charge.
Yes the 10A is the only route to continue past queen square hence it moving to stand 9 inbound in anticipation. It is nowhere near enough and needs an extra shuttle every 6 mins also.
The cross rivers were originally to also be cut at queen square and just use sir Thomas Street out however Merseytravel have convinced the council that sir Thomas Street isn't big enough to take all passengers to start from so they ae keeping Cook Street to alleviate the anticipated pressure there.
With the new design for Lime street by st Georges hall it is single carriageway 1 lane each way but no traffic lights outside the station as that will all be pedestrianised just the traffic lights into queen square so it should in theory flow lots better that end the same exiting queen square no lights to get onto lime street so lots faster. Unlike the plans for the South bit which I can see being worse than now
