It has been announced today that Fiddlers Ferry Power Station is to close in March 2020, I was wondering how much Coal is still transported by Rail? Is it still regular or is it just the odd Freight move here and there?

Well there's a few paths booked for freight movements in to Fiddlers Ferry but doesn't look like any of them were used today: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/a...&order=wtt
I imagine that there will be a few railtours around there before it closes.

Yes Rob yoy are right. I can remember the service that ran from the low level platform at Bank Quay to Manchester Oxford Road where tha attached photo was taken.[attachment=436 ]
