Electrifying Wolves-Shrewsbury would be a great improvement. You could then just extend the VT Wolverhampton services. (Shrewsbury-Crewe may then also be worthwhile)

You'd also free up quite a few Class 170/172 DMUs, if LM then used electric stock.

Class 172 do not work to Shrewsbury as the LM version only work on services through Snow Hill. LM use 170 or 170/153 combinations to Shrewsbury.
Now we have let the dust settle on the incident at Chester , does anybody know which Super-Voyager it was .

Will this have any effect on the availability of units , such as the hot spare that is usually at Birmingham New Street.
221105. Shouldn't affect availability there's two spare driving cars from disbanded 221144, if I remember rightly.
On a separate note, WB64 (the pretendolino) will be making a weekly appearance on Friday evenings on 19:03 EUS-BHM and return with the introduction of the new December timetable.
From the December timetable change, most virgin services out of Liverpool will call at Crewe
That is something to do with relieveing the overcrowding on the following service out of Euston to Chester which is suffering at certain times of the day crush loadings , unfortunately for Virgin at the present time not all services to Chester are double units .
The service from Shrewsbury to London Euston has been shelved from the May timetable change as the timings provided by Newtwork Rail have proved to make the service uneconomic , Virgin Trains are going to have another look and see if something can not be organised better for the main December 2014 timetable change instead.
Is the Blackpool service still going ahead?
1D32, 18:10 London Euston-Chester was operated by 390157 as far as Crewe.
A VSTP move from Chester-Crewe with 221113 meant that the Voyager continued the journey.

This is a regular occurence when they are short of Super-Voyagers , sometimes this is possible with a set swap at Crewe .

Is the 1810 London Euston - Chester , a 5 car or 10 car Super Voyager diagram ?
