The line between Carlisle and Glasgow was reopened yesterday afternoon
Due to damage to Lamington Viaduct services on the WCML will be operating between London Euston - Carlisle , road replacement is being provided for passengers travelling further north.
The early indications are that the viaduct has dropped by approx 2 ft with damaged beams and parapets , more is expected to be known when engineers can get a proper look when the weather and river conditions improve enough .
Now confirmed that services are not now expected to resume over lamington Viaduct until at least 8th January weather permitting.
Now we are nearing nearly three weeks of the closure between Carlisle / Lockerbie and Carstairs , isn't there group standard's issued by Network Rail that require train drivers to do route learning again .

Any idea if the closure is only till the 1st February or will it be a significantly longer closure.
