Two new consultations up:

30 (St. Helens to Chain Lane) - Arriva proposing to withdraw Sunday daytime services due to them operating at a loss

22 (Warrington to Ashton) - Warrington's Own Buses proposing to change the route in two areas due to issues with punctuality and parked cars stopping buses from getting through

Very interesting.

Re the 30 - not surprised about Sunday loadings as I've never seen many on it. Wonder how Merseytravel will cover this as the 17 in the daytime goes onto the 37. I still think that Chain Lane can't sustain the present frequency in Evenings/Sundays as the service at these was hourly until 2016.

22 - I think this issue was predicted in this WOB thread when the extension was proposed. I had read reports of HTL's Solos struggling round these roads, so problems were inevitable.
They could probably cover it by dropping it to hourly of a Sunday day time and have it work with the 17/37 that way. Pointless running it half hourly of an evening as it is.
Looks like the X1 could be lost soon

That is bonkers, so they're suggesting withdrawing the X1 which supposed to take 55 minutes, with the 500 as a replacement, which takes nearly 2 hours end to end.

If X1 is unsustainable as Arriva are suggesting, maybe rerouting it via the old 82A in Runcorn hasn't helped, i've used the X1 a few times certainly busy Runcorn High Street-Liverpool

Whats going on out that way first Stagecoach pull the X5 now you are potentially losing the Arriva X1 , is there a modal shift somewhere in that direction .
The X5 (it’s proper original number) has been running for years and is well used. Runcorn (and/or Widnes) needs a fast bus to Liverpool. I smell a rat..

Partly a modal shift with more trains into Liverpool than previous years but I would more say that it's just Arriva wanting to wind down and keep only the routes which are the top earners. Runcorn has been rumored for closure for the past few years, wind down what you can and then see what (if anything) can be moved to other depots.
It's a shame Halton are in such a bad way or they could compete and take over routes being lost.
I wrote a Blog Post about this (Link in my Sig) and in under 24 hours its got almost 7,500 views and a lot of angry comments about why the service should not be scrapped with a lot saying it gets very busy.. Something does not feel right about the withdrawal of this service.
