Always breaksdown 7657, broke down on me once outside the Royal. Was leaking water out the back of it. Also remember hitting a speed bump and some considerable speed in it and the back suspension made violent noises. Can't have been a major problem, as 7657 was back out on the 8 today.
Sorry for going off topic folks!

Regarding the B10BLE's, I think St Helens have tidied a lot of them up, not getting a full refurbishment but getting replacement cushions every now and then until it gives the full refurbished affect! It appears that ex Speke ones have been un touched for all of their lives, and continue to do so today. P&P treatment wouldn't go amiss for them, why they didn't get P&P before transfer like the DAFs is beyond me.
I've had a ride on a few of them of late and they do feel better to ride on - the engines seem to have a bit more get-up-and-go and the interiors have had a good clean on the most part. They run much better now than this time a year or two ago definitely.

Yeah it was Bootle bound actually!
Apologies I've just realised that you didn't ride it today! 7657 was infact broke down today!

It was still on there at 17:21 as I got a photo of it on Green Lane - still in service, heading towards Bootle! Probably a minor fault - sometimes the same bus is sent back out instead of a replacement if it's nothing major.

I could also make out another tow truck inside the depot, which is probably SH's resident. Any idea of the reg of this one as I don't believe I have ever seen it?
All the stuff of note is hidden right round the back across the rear end of the staff car park which you see to the right from the main gates! ;-)! All you get to see from the front is the lanes for standard running, service vehicles whereas engineering along with the paint shop is down at the back and unfortunately, there's no way to get a view without going through the depot. That's where the MPD that got towed in will have been.
With regards to the tow vehicle, yes, we do indeed have one! However, from what I've been told, it can be just as unreliable as some of the vehicles which is why RNW are often called it. It can also be the case that depending on the location of the breakdown, it may be quicker and more economical to have RNW tow something in than have fitters take the tow vehicle out. I've only ever noted it out once personally recovering a Dart from the bus station however I'm not sure on the reg, sorry! MM may be able to help you out on that one!
I know mate, I always like to have a look at the front though, see if anything is there, more often than not, there isn't! The time I don't look though is the time that something decent is there!
Cheers for that mate
the tow truck is Scania M643LNY. I have got a pic of it somewere but cant find it on my flickr page at the moment

the wagon will be used for jobs like towing something from the bus station into the depot and shunting duties round the depot.
I seen it a few years ago towing a b10b that had broke down
Now painted in a livery similar to the old grey and white training livery though!
yup it was in that livery when i saw it in 2008. ill try and find the photo i had of it
