(26/04/2017 19:23)iMarkeh Wrote: [ -> ]Does anyone have a list of the buses which are based at Hooton Depot? I cant find out where the buses are based. I see Quack77 has done a fleetlist (http://quack77.uk/fleetlists/aintree-coachline.php) but as I say, it doesnt state where the buses are based. Simply googling doesnt seem to be doing much help at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Do the Solos do anything else except for the 7?

Not really. Sometimes, very rarely though, they venture onto the 272 or down to Chester for the 41 or Rail-Link as a result of a breakdown or bus shortage, but usually they are solely for the 7. They are ideal for that service as some of the roads around Great Sutton way are quite tight, therefore having the front wheels in front of the driver and the lack of front overhang is perfect for this sort of driving.
At the moment, there is usually an Enviro 200 on one of the two 7 service diagrams, due to KX51 CTO (107) being VOR due to technical issues.
Speaking of the 7, the forthcoming timetable change for the 29th May will involve some morning and evening journeys being withdrawn and re-timed, and the entire Saturday service being withdrawn due to it no longer being viable.

Why do they have so many buses when they only have 12 permits to operate vehicles. Most of these buses are basically spares aren't they? Especially the deckers.

Aintree Coachline is registered as two companies:
PC0003173 'Aintree Coachline - for 14 vehicles.
PC0004738 'Aintree Coachline 'International' Ltd - for a further 14 vehicles.
None of the listed buses are spares, all are in operational service. The deckers are commonly found on Neston High and Wirral Grammar High services, or the City-Rail-Link.
What you say is correct however it says on the DVSA that only 12 buses can be operated from Hooton Park which is what I was referring to. They only have a public service PVR of around 8 or 9 leaving 3 school buses meaning they could do it in 12 buses if Neston links up with some Wirral Grammar buses. There are 18 buses on the list which are BASED at Hooton and 12 permits meaning 6 buses can't be used at all.

The address on the legal lettering is not always, and has no legal requirement to be the operating base of the licensed vehicles to the company.
Most of the vehicles for the school service work are inter worked within the local bus diagrams, therefore the PVR is reduced. For instance, the City-Rail-Link vehicle leaves Chester and goes on to do the Wirral Grammar School at around 2pm.
In total (including school buses), there is normally a dail requirement of around 16-18 vehicles operating out of Hooton garage. This includes the 3-4 shunt buses that are used to/from Chester and Ellesmere Port for either driver or bus changeovers.
