197s started working to Birmingham Int on Monday, with some STP schedules to accomodate the inevitable set swops to keep them off the Cambrian although the actual workings seem to be far fewer and some appear in RTT as having 158s coupled!
The mid-day cl.230 set swop at Bidston appears from RTT to have ceased, although today the change over-set appears to have ventured out from Birkenhead to Bidston and straight back.
;
The 197 working to Birmingham still seems slightly random with STP schedules to turn the set that arrives at Shrewsbury just after 12.20 back to Holyhead, but then no alteration to get it out of the next trip on the 20.08 BHI-Aberystwyth

RTT doesn't always show set swaps mid service.
I was once on a TPE service that did a set swap at York. RTT made it look like the same train did the entire journey and the replacement set headed from Doncaster to York and then went straight back.

Here's the working to move the 197 out of the way.

And this working is 2 x 158s that split at Shrewsbury.

Although, it seems to be a 158 rather than a 197 on some days, meaning the switch isn't needed.
Yes - but if the 197 works the 09.23 from Holyhead which has a VAR schedule to turn back as 1D13 its next working is 1I26 back to Birmingham International, so logically either that or the 20.08 from International should have VAR/SPT schedules to reflect a set swop.
